Efforts to Revive Antibiotic Development With PASTEUR Act, Education, Awareness

AMR Action Fund CEO Henry Skinner spoke with Contagion Live about the market challenges that have hampered investment into antimicrobial R&D and the re-introduction of the PASTEUR Act in the U.S. House of Representatives, a piece of bipartsian legislation intended to stagalize the market and rekindle private investment.

“Antibiotics are foundational to contemporary health care. They enable chemotherapy, basic surgeries, knee and hip transplants, Cesarian sections, and child birth,” Skinner said. It is critical that “policymakers and the public understand just how important these drugs are.”
