# Trellis Bioscience Raises $9 Million to Advance Phase 2 Trial of mAb for PJIs

Trellis Bioscience announced the closing of a $9 million financing round to support completion of its Phase 2 clinical trial of calpurbatug (TRL1068), an investigational monoclonal antibody being evaluated for chronic prosthetic joint infections (PJI). The financing included participation from the AMR Action Fund and will support continued development of a novel approach to treating difficult-to-manage biofilm-associated infections.

AMR Action Fund CEO Henry Skinner was quoted discussing the investment and the growing challenges associated with antibiotic-resistant PJIs.

"Infection is a risk with any surgical procedure, and prosthetic joint infections can be devastating for patients," said Henry Skinner, PhD, CEO of AMR Action Fund. "The growing threat of antimicrobial resistance is making these infections increasingly difficult to treat. We are pleased to support the Trellis team as they work to develop a therapy that could improve outcomes for patients and help preserve the antibiotic safety net that underpins modern surgical care."
